Drive into Eyjafjörður and up into the highlands to visit Laugarfell​, a hot spring area with a natural hot spring pool.

Drive to Hofsjökull glacier and take a short walk to see the glacier. Drive to Skagafjörður, crossing glacial rivers on the way.

This is one of the most impressive waterfalls of the country. It is situated in the 175 km long glacial river Skjalfandafljot just south of road no. 1. Both the river and the lava field it runs through have their sources far in the south.
While all the active volcanoes in Iceland get all the press and coverage. There are volcanoes in Iceland that are not so active and have remain dormant for thousands of years.
