Horsebackriding, a day full of adventure in the nature. The impressive pannorama of the Skargafjorder mountains will accompany the riders all day long.
A day of spectacular scenery awaits us. We set out from the Himnasvalir guesthouse to Goðafoss waterfall.
We will pass Europe´s largest bird sanctuary at Lake Mývatn.
We will see the mythical lava park Dimmuborgir and visit Hverafell mud baths.
On ring rout to Askja (f-88), drive Grafarlönd and head northwest to the magnificent mountain Herðubreið and from there to Askja. Askja is a caldera in Dyngjufjöll mountain.
In Askja we will see Lake Öskjuvatn and the crater bevore driving back to himnasvallier guesthouse.
Rive rafting on the West or East Glacial River. Choose between whitewather or family rafting.
Have a swimm in Grettirslaug natural hot spring, go seefishing and visti Drangey island an adventure for itself. The island is a pearl of nature in the middel of Fjord Skagafjörður . the island is a sheersided preciptius volcanic tuff 180 m high and hence provides exelent views over the whole fjord. The birdlife is diverse.
